Catching Up

Hey folks.  I think it’s time I actually sit down and blog about something. Sorry I’ve been so lazy with this.

So what’s the latest?  Well, surely you’ve heard about our upcoming tour with Ben Folds:

01.23.11 Minneapolis, MN @ First Avenue
01.25.11 Champaign, IL @ Assembly Hall at University of Illinois
01.26.11 Athens, OH @ Ohio University
01.27.11 Madison, WI @ Overture Center
01.28.11 Milwaukee, WI @ Riverside Theater
01.30.11 St. Louis, MO @ The Pageant
01.31.11 Fulton, MO @ Champ Auditorium at Westminster College
02.01.11 Tulsa, OK @ Cain’s Ballroom

I don’t know if I can express how excited I am about this.  Could there be a better way for Street Corner to kick start the new year?  I think not.  Ben has been so supportive of us and we are grateful for this opportunity.  If you’re anywhere close to these cities, I hope you can come.

So what else has transpired during these post Sing-Off days?  There was our Exit In show here in Nashville, which you also may have heard about.  The turn out was incredible.  We started out selling tickets for one show.  Then that sold out so we made it two shows.  Both shows were packed with a very attentive audience.  I can tell you honestly that this may have been the most fun I’ve ever had performing.  There are a few YouTube videos on our channel from that night.  We double billed it with The Whiffenpoofs.  Sing-Off champs Committed joined us for a couple numbers.  Speaking of Committed, I had been calling them “champs” ever since the first episode.  I knew it all along.  I love those guys!  And to top it off, Ben Folds and Alison Krauss joined us on stage!  Okay, I can die happy now.

So those are the major things.  I’m still trying to process what happened over the past few months.  I suspect that our lives have changed forever.  I can’t go anywhere without being spotted these days.  Tonight at the grocery store someone stopped me to give me her feedback on our performance on The Sing-Off.  It’s so strange.  No turning back now.  Street Corner is charging forward.  I can’t wait to see what comes next!

I will keep you posted.

Love you,

Richie
